My family is of mixed origins and I have lived in Germany, Switzerland, the USA and Slovenia, where I currently reside. Speaking different languages (English, German, French, Italian and Slovenian) and communicating in different cultural contexts is something I have known since my childhood.
Singing has always been a part of my life and I graduated with an MA in vocal pedagogy and operatic performance from the Haute Ecole de Musique Lausanne, Switzerland in 2006 as well as completing 4 years of acting training with Pierre-Andre Gamba in Geneva. I also trained and refined my public speaking skills working as a multilingual tour guide at the Olympic Museum for 4 years.
After moving to Slovenia, I spent a few years on the opera and concert stages of Europe and the world before realising that a career in professional singing was not what I really wanted in life – it left me burnt-out and with a feeling of emptiness that not even my family could fill. At age 30, I started to question the way singing is taught wanting to make it better and dove right into the rabbit hole of functional anatomy and have not looked back since.
My first breath-related training was in MDH Breathing Coordination with Robin De Haas and Lynn Martin starting 2013 and ending in 2016 with an advanced practitioner certification. Wanting to dig deeper, I added a few other certifications to the mix: Art of Breath (to which I later became a contributor collaborating with Brian McKenzie and Rob Wilson), Skills of stress and Wim Hof Fundamentals. I also trained with Meredith Colby in 2018 (Neuro-Vocal Method), Walt Fritz in 2019 and 2025 (oromyofunctional therapy) and participated in countless other online and in-person education programmes over the years to educate myself further. In 2024, I graduated from the Academy of manual therapy in Ljubljana after 3 years of in-depth studies of manual techniques, anatomy and physiology. In 2025, I concluded the Breath Science Practitioner Certification with Martin McPhilimey as well as a training in endoscopic interpretation with Kerrie Obert (London) and advanced training with Walt Fritz (Athens, Greece).
I have been invited to teach all over the world:
- as the external consultant for functional anatomy and breathing coordination by the Modern Vocal Training Institute based in Malaga, Spain and
- as a regular contributor to the online anatomy programme of Vocal Health Education.
- as a recurring lecturer for the Diplomacy by Network programme of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2022, delivering public speaking workshops to diplomats from all over the world
- workshops and seminars for the Ultimate Artists programme in London, UK
- the Pacific Opera Company in Sydney, Australia and the State Opera of South Australia in Adelaide, Australia,
- the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm
- the World Voice Teachers Expo in Poland as well as online
- the ArSensei masterclasses for young musicians in Slovenia.
- lectures for BAST singing teacher training
- webinars for Vocology in Practice
- and much more!
Having been a competitive swimmer in my youth and still enjoying swimming and triathlons, I have conducted extensive research in the field of optimal breathing for athletes and the effects of efficient Breathing Coordination on athletic performance. I have been honoured to work with amateur and professional athletes and even Olympians over the years.
All in all, I can say that my life is never boring and I really love what I do. You can watch several podcasts with me on youtube as well as my recent vocal collaboration with the metal band AqvileA.
